I was very careful in my search for an ultra-portable, and finally decided on this ASUS. The other candidate was the Toshiba T235-S1350 with the battery life of UL30-A2 is the stumbling block.

The Good:

Since ASUS UL30A-A2 laptop does not have an optical disc, it is extremely easy, and it was much easier than expected. And less than an inch thick in their profile offers extreme portability.

Although 12 hours is a bit ‘for the duration of the battery, I always get in position, 10 hours on a single charge.

One point that I wanted something (from reading reviews) that the Draft-N WiFi Before you take the laptop, I bought a router, dedicated N-. TRENDnet router with N TEW652BRP I have yet to drop a signal and then the strongest signal possible. To test the range I tried in my car a few houses away and was able to surf the Internet without any problems. I used the computer in the airport terminal and found no decrease in performance. Contrary to some opinions, I am more than satisfied with the Wi-Fi performance and recommend measures for only $ 39 in a mostly-N home router.

LED backlight is incredible and allows an incredible view. The keyboard is very spacious for a laptop and very helpful. The only thing that took some ‘getting used to is the size of the right shift key. This is not exactly half the size of a normal shift key, but small enough that it takes a little ‘practice ..
The A2 is completely UL30 with Altec Lansing speakers and SRS sound quality is the best I’ve heard of a laptop under 17 cm with 4 GB of RAM, it can, Photoshop and Microsoft Office to work together smoothly.

The less good:

My machine is preinstalled with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Many of my favorite shows (jZip for example), I want to use are not compatible with the 64-bit. In earlier versions (builds) of 64-bit system, it was possible to run 32-bit. Following is based process will be able to run 32-bit, but not all, are not able to run some of my favorite programs and wait for the authors in a manner compatible 64-bit.

I’m not a big fan of the touchpad and made this acquisition to know that I would with a USB mouse. But on those occasions when I use the touchpad, I found the key was a bit ‘difficult. It ’s very subtle and it is literally in the frame. There is also an exclusive bar, uses a rocker. Although this may be a problem with a lot, I find the button difficult to use.

In terms of aesthetics, I do not think that other Asus ultra-portable, this game its brushed aluminum is attractive and functional, the fingerprint is not a problem.

In summary, the other main version of my Windows 64 bit and the touchpad is a challenge, this notebook has exceeded my expectations and I recommend it to everyone, especially the sophisticated traveler. Read more reviews
